Another major outage on PS5 and PS4 servers
The PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently experiencing a major outage that is impacting most of its services. Both PS5 and PS4 players are experiencing serious issues.
UPDATE 07/01/2024 at 6:30 p.m.: the PSN outage is now resolved, all services are functional again.
Were you planning to let off steam on your PS5 or PS4 after work by joining your friends for a few games? You’re clearly going to have to revise your plans. For once, the PSN servers are experiencing numerous issues, and almost all services are impacted.
New major outage for PSN
Sony has already announced that it is investigating this new series of errors that are affecting several online features. According to the Sony official websitetechnicians are doing everything they can to fix the problem, which we hope will be resolved soon. However, it is clearly indicated that account management, online play, the PlayStation Store and the video service are experiencing serious problems. Some players manage to slip through the cracks, but for the vast majority of PS5 and PS4 players, nothing works on the PSN side anymore.
Sony reports that the outage began on Monday, 1er July 2024 at around 4:45 PM. In addition, at the time of writing, it is difficult, if not nearly impossible (on both PS5 and PS4) for some players to:
- Log in to PSN
- Create an account
- Edit your account information
- Launch games and applications online, or even offline in some cases
- Access online network features
- Play PlayStation Video content
- Buy, download, browse and redeem codes on PlayStation Network
What to do in the meantime?
There is unfortunately no quick fix to use online services if you are impacted. All you can do for now is wait until the issue is resolved or play those good old single-player games that don’t require a mandatory PSN connection. Sony is usually responsive when such an outage occurs, so things may gradually get back to normal. However, this outage seems to affect almost all regions, America, Europe, Japan, no hard feelings, everyone is in the same boat.
